P1 Dolce CORSICA
September 8 – September 15
The Island of Beauty
A journey around Corsica. Mountain routes, white beaches with turquoise water. The birthplace of Napoleon, full of wonderful roads, magnificent nature, and rich history.
Day 1
Ferry from Livorno to Corsica.
Welcoming Corsica at the port in Bastia.
Drive along the eastern coast towards the southern part of the island.
First encounter with the stunning mountain landscape – driving through the Route de Bavella D268 and Massif de l’Ospedale D368 to Porto Vecchio and finally to the charming Bonifacio.
Free time in the town and a group dinner, overnight stay at the Caravelle hotel in the heart of the town.
Day 2
Journey along the southwestern coast through the Roccapina pass and the Lion Rock – Rocher du Lion, Sartène, Propriano, and the picturesque Olmeto.
Lunch at a restaurant with a beautiful view of the Propriano bay.
Check-in at the Sofitel Golfe d’Ajaccio hotel.
Relax at the hotel, dinner.
Options: Wine tasting in the Sartène region, bathing in the natural thermal waters of Bains de Caldane, or exploring Ajaccio in the late afternoon.
Day 3
Travel towards one of Corsica’s greatest attractions – Calanques de Piana, and the town of Porto.
Drive through the spine of Corsica and Col de Vizzavona to the capital of independent Corsica, the university town of Corte.
Then, we will welcome the dark yet wonderful Niolu region, with the Scala de Santa Regina gorge (D84), Calacuccia, Albertacce (a paradise for goats and pigs living freely and feeding on the local edible chestnuts).
Next, the Col de Vergio (the highest road point in Corsica).
Lunch in the town of Piana at a restaurant with a stunning view of Porto bay and the Calanques de Piana region.
Overnight stay in the heart of the town of Calvi at the Hotel l’Acquale (2 nights).
Options: Boat trip from Porto to Scandola – Nature Reserve.
Day 4
Tour of the Balagne region.
Discovering the charming villages perched on mountain tops: Calenzana, Corbara, Pigna, San Antonino (voted the most beautiful village in France), Aregno.
Lunch at a restaurant by the sea in the town of l’Ile Rousse.
Return to the hotel. Along the way, a surprise visit to Father Piotr, a Polish priest and producer of Holy Olive Oil in Lumio.
Free afternoon in Calvi. Time for the beach, shopping, and local attractions.
Options: Morning tasting of local wine and other spirits.
Day 5
Journey along a favorite route of drivers – the Agriates Desert, leading to the „Thumb of Corsica,” also known as Cap Corse, often referred to as Corsica in a nutshell.
Coffee break in the picturesque town of Saint Florent, known as the little Saint-Tropez.
More twists and turns through the Patrimonio region and vineyards, considered some of the best in Corsica.
Next stop is the beautiful Nonza and the largest black beach of Cap Corse.
More twists and turns, more paradise-like coves, fishing villages, and Genoese towers. The intoxicating scent of maquis vegetation covering the local hills.
Lunch break at a local restaurant amidst beautiful surroundings.
Arrival at the Castel Brando hotel.
Option: Stop and wine tasting at a Patrimonio winery, one of the most esteemed wine regions in Corsica.
Day 6
September 14 – Friday
A brief visit to Bastia, from where our ferry departs to Livorno.
Farewell to Corsica.
September 15 – Saturday
Return to Poland.
